About Permit.io

Permit.io is a commercial authorization service that lets developers add fine-grained permissions to applications, APIs and AI agents without building a permission system from scratch. Policies can be written as code or managed in a no-code editor, and decisions can be made by policy decision points running close to the application.

The product line includes App and API Permissions, Nexus PDP, an MCP Gateway, a Coding Agents Gateway, AI Access Control and embeddable Elements for permission management screens. It supports RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC and policy-based models, built on open standards such as OPA, Cedar and OPAL. Every decision is logged, explained and forwardable to a SIEM, and decisions can run in the cloud, in hybrid setups or on premises. Compliance items listed include SOC 2 Type II attestation and a HIPAA BAA. Permit.io is a commercial product with open-source components, with a hosted service, documentation, a CLI and a pricing page.
