About Authress
Authress is a commercial API for adding login and access control to software. It issues JWTs for authenticated users and provides detailed control over what each user, or service, may do, keeping identity and permissions as separate concerns so applications can check authorization without custom code.
On the login side, it offers a hosted login UI, social login, passwordless login and WebAuthn, enterprise SSO through SAML, OAuth and OIDC, machine tokens, invitations and tenant separation, plus customizable React components. On the access side, it provides role and resource-based permissions with nesting, object-level control, service-to-service authorization, an access audit trail and access control as code. The site includes a JavaScript SDK example for authorizing an action. Authress is proprietary and vendor-hosted, with sign-up, a knowledge base and a pricing page.
