Privacy policy. What we collect, and why.

Enlisted (enlisted.directory) is a free, public directory of open-source and SaaS tools, run by Muzahid Maruf, founder of NQM Studio LTD. For anything in this policy, write to enlisteddirectory@gmail.com.

• Browsing the directory. You don’t need an account to read it. Our host (Vercel) logs standard request data such as your IP address, browser and the page requested, to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
• Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address and the page you subscribed from. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Submitting or claiming a listing. Signing in happens on app.enlisted.directory through Clerk, which gives us your email, name and sign-in provider. We also store the listing details you submit.
• Advertising purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive the order details and a payment reference, never your card number.
• Messages. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can reply and fix what you reported.

We use a small set of tools to see which pages are useful and to find bugs:

• Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without following you across sites.
• Google Analytics 4 reports aggregate traffic (pages, countries, devices) and sets cookies in your browser. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on.
• Microsoft Clarity records anonymised sessions and heatmaps to show where visitors get stuck. It masks what you type into forms.
• Clerk sets the cookies that keep you signed in, on app.enlisted.directory only.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The directory keeps working without them.

Enlisted is free to read and is supported by advertising. Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense, each labelled “Advertisement”. We also show labelled sponsor placements for products promoted directly by their makers. Neither affects how tools are listed or ranked.

Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad and to measure results. You can turn off personalised advertising in Google’s ad settings, or opt out of many ad networks at aboutads.info. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, ads are shown only after you make a choice in the consent message, which you can reopen from the “Privacy & cookie settings” link when it appears.

To run the directory, review and publish listings, send the newsletter you asked for, process orders, answer your messages, understand how the site is used, keep it secure and show advertising. We don’t sell your personal information.

Only the service providers that run the site: Vercel (hosting, analytics and file storage), MongoDB Atlas (database), Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments), Google (analytics and advertising) and Microsoft (Clarity). We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

We keep account, listing and newsletter data until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe. Server logs and analytics data are kept by those providers for their standard retention periods.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to stop sending you email, or to object to how it is used. If you are in the EEA or UK you also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority; California residents have the right to know what we collect and to ask us to delete it. Enlisted is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we update the date above. Older versions are available on request.
