About Lucky Dangle
Lucky Dangle puts a small charm on your desktop. You choose a charm and it hangs from the top of your screen, swings gently as you work, lets clicks pass through everywhere except the charm, and drops in when you call it with a keyboard shortcut. It runs from the Mac menu bar or the Windows system tray, without a Dock icon or a visible window.
Charms each come from a tradition and have a small ritual of their own: the nazar boncuğu, hamsa, nimbu-mirchi garland, a bell, a Drishti bommai that can be repainted, a Chinese red cord, a Daruma wishing doll, a Maneki-neko, a horseshoe, a scarab and a Finnish himmeli, plus any emoji you pick. You can also hang someone you love as a photo print holding up to seven photos with notes, or as a photo locket, and the site says photos stay in the browser tab and are not uploaded in its demo.
New charms arrive in free updates, and visitors can suggest a charm they grew up with. The page lets you try a charm in the browser by flicking it, and it explains that the app sits quietly in the menu bar or tray.
