About Cloudflare R2
Cloudflare R2 is an object storage service from Cloudflare designed for applications that read and write data globally. It exposes S3-compatible APIs so that existing tools work without a rewrite, and it does not charge for egress, which removes the surprise bandwidth bills associated with many storage services.
R2 integrates directly with Cloudflare Workers through a native API, so code can access buckets without juggling API keys and SDKs. It supports creating millions of buckets, progressive migration where R2 sits in front of an existing provider and copies objects as they are requested, and R2 Data Catalog, an Iceberg-compatible catalog for querying logs and structured data from SQL warehouses.
R2 is proprietary and delivered as a hosted Cloudflare service, so nothing is installed on your own servers. The homepage invites developers to start building for free, and pricing and plan details are published on Cloudflare's plans pages.
