About WalkAITalkie
WalkAITalkie is a menu-bar dictation app for macOS. You hold a key (Right Option by default), speak, and a draft appears where you were working. Speech recognition and text cleanup run on the Mac after a one-time model download, and the app needs no account or sign-up. It requires macOS 26 or later and Apple Silicon (M1 or newer), and supports 38 dictation languages.
The raw transcript is always the starting point, and then you choose how much help the draft gets from six built-in formats. Clean Up strips filler words, restarts and repeated phrases and corrects punctuation while keeping your own wording, and Raw leaves the transcript as spoken. A custom dictionary keeps project names spelled correctly. Pro adds translation of the finished transcript into 38 target languages, which runs after transcription rather than live, and session notes: record a conversation, talk or lecture through the microphone and get a transcript with structured notes. System audio from Zoom or Teams is not captured.
Users who are logged into the Codex CLI or the Claude Code CLI can opt in, in the direct-download build, to pass the finished transcript (text only) to that tool for faster notes. Dictation and Clean Up are free, and Pro is a single $7.99 purchase.
