About Verbalane
Verbalane gives learners who already know the basics real material to practice. Every day it publishes five new French stories and five new Spanish stories adapted from current news into short conversations at levels such as A2, covering topics like environment, politics, society, culture and daily life. You read the dialogue, listen line by line, tap to reveal useful words that are saved to your vocabulary, and answer a comprehension question.
A review queue schedules saved words with spaced repetition, with a short daily set of 10 words and ratings such as too hard, good and easy. A progress view tracks stories read, words saved and reviewed, and current level. The site clarifies that it is not a news app but uses current topics for language practice, and that stories are adapted into level-appropriate dialogue with audio and vocabulary support.
On the free tier you get three current stories per day, vocabulary saving and ten words of daily review. Pro adds all of each day's stories, the complete archive and review across your whole word library. The site is available in English and includes a stories archive, a vocabulary section and a blog.
