Tot

Tot is a small text app from the Iconfactory for collecting and editing text on the Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Its single-window design and simple formatting controls make it a scratchpad for snippets, to-dos and quick notes, with text kept in seven color-coded dots.

Text syncs automatically through iCloud, with Home Screen widgets on iOS and a Tot Mini on Apple Watch. The app supports rich or plain text, converts text to Markdown for use on the web, and includes actions for Shortcuts so it can serve as a scratchpad for workflows. A keyboard-friendly design offers common text operations plus word and character counts, and customizable smart bullets, dividers and automatic backups are included.

Tot is distributed as native Apple apps rather than a self-hosted service. It suits people who want a very small and fast place for temporary text instead of a full notes app, and who like keeping a few snippets at hand all day.
