About SSDB

SSDB is a high-performance NoSQL database that stores data on disk and is positioned as an alternative to Redis. It is written in C++ on top of LevelDB, is designed for collection-style data, and is described as stable and production-ready, with use at a number of internet companies.

It stores persistent key-value, key-zset, key-hashmap and key-list data and can serve Redis clients, so existing Redis tooling can talk to it. Client libraries exist for C++, PHP, Python, Java, Node.js, Ruby and Go, among others. Additional features include a persistent queue service, master-slave replication, load balancing, a PHP-based GUI admin tool called phpssdbadmin, and built-in Nagios-style self-checks.

The server is released under the New BSD license and can be compiled from source. A Windows executable is available from a separate binary repository, and the project can build static libraries for use in iOS apps. Benchmarks against Redis are published in the documentation, which is also available in Chinese.
