About Speakmac
Speakmac is a macOS dictation tool that lets you speak instead of type in any app, from messages and emails to notes. You hold a shortcut while talking or switch to a hands-free mode for longer passages, and the app turns the speech into text, removing hesitations and restarts. Writing styles such as default, message and email adjust the tone of the output, and a custom vocabulary teaches it names and terms so they are spelled correctly.
A companion feature called Scribe records meetings without a bot joining the call and produces a transcript with timestamps and speaker labels such as You and Others. Transcript history is searchable, editable and can be replayed from the audio, and you can drag an audio file in to transcribe it. After setting up a local model once, dictation works offline with no account or API key. It supports 25 languages by default, with optional local packs for more, and keeps memory use low.
