Platform9

Platform9 is a vendor of private cloud and managed Kubernetes software. Its main product, Private Cloud Director, turns existing infrastructure into a private cloud that runs both virtual machines and containers, and the company presents it as an alternative to VMware.

Related products include a Community Edition described as free, full-featured and community-supported, and vJailbreak, a free tool for migrating from VMware that also has a GitHub site. The vendor mentions a 90-day trial with unlimited cores and no commitment. Its site offers documentation, support, webinars, hands-on labs and a partner program including service providers.

Platform9 is a commercial vendor, and its pricing link leads to a contact page rather than listed prices, so costs must be requested from the company.
