About Honeycomb
Honeycomb is a commercial observability platform built around fast querying of rich event and trace data. It is designed so engineers can ask open-ended questions about production behavior, including across fields with very many distinct values, rather than relying only on pre-built dashboards.
Core capabilities include distributed tracing, frontend observability, log analytics, time series metrics, a telemetry pipeline and Refinery as a Service for sampling. Built-in features cover SLOs, a service map, BubbleUp for spotting what differs in problem traffic, anomaly detection and OpenTelemetry support. More recently it has added AI agent observability, with views of agent fleet performance, LLM cost tracking and agent conversations, plus an MCP server and agent skills. Honeycomb is proprietary and vendor-hosted, with a pricing page, a sandbox, documentation and learning material around observability engineering.
