About Diun
Diun, short for Docker Image Update Notifier, monitors container images and alerts you when a newer version appears. It polls registries for fresh tags or changed digests, so you can follow upstream base image changes, new application versions and security-fix rebuilds without visiting every repository by hand.
It targets self-hosted and automated setups, where staying current matters and silent drift is easy to overlook. Diun can be run as one executable or inside a Docker image, can be pointed at container platforms and configuration files, and sends notifications through services you already use. Repository topics list Gotify, Telegram, Slack, Rocket.Chat, Discord and Pushover, along with Docker Swarm, Kubernetes and Nomad as platforms.
The tool is written in Go and licensed under MIT, with documentation on the author's website. It notifies rather than updating containers itself, which suits home-lab owners and small operations teams that prefer to review updates before applying them.
