About Azure Kubernetes Service
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is a managed Kubernetes service on Microsoft Azure. Microsoft handles much of the cluster management, so teams can deploy and run containerized applications on Kubernetes clusters without operating every component themselves.
Microsoft positions AKS around secure, scalable deployment and management of containerized apps and faster delivery. It sits within a wider group of Azure container services that includes Azure Container Registry, Azure Container Apps, Azure Arc and Azure Kubernetes Fleet Manager, which gives teams options for storing images, running simpler workloads and managing many clusters.
AKS is a hosted, proprietary Azure service rather than software you run yourself. It suits teams already using Azure or the Microsoft developer stack that want managed Kubernetes with integrated identity, networking and monitoring.
