About Chat Analytics

Chat Analytics takes chat exports from supported messaging platforms and generates a single HTML file with statistics and interactive graphs. Privacy is its main concern: the README says chat data never leaves your device during report generation, because processing happens in the browser. It is for people who want to explore their own conversations, such as message volume, language, emoji use and sentiment, and for communities that want insight into their servers.

Supported sources include Discord via DiscordChatExporter JSON, Facebook Messenger via its data export, Telegram Desktop JSON, and WhatsApp text or zip exports from a phone. Reports are organized into sections for messages, language, emoji, links, calls, interaction, sentiment and a timeline. The README includes a table of which fields each platform provides, notes that exports from different platforms cannot be combined, and welcomes contributions of new platform parsers.

You can use the hosted app at chatanalytics.app, view a demo, use a command-line version, or self-host with Docker. The report file itself can contain sensitive information, so share it carefully. The code is TypeScript under AGPL-3.0.
