About AWS Fargate
AWS Fargate is a serverless compute option for containers on AWS. Instead of choosing and maintaining virtual machines, teams specify what a container needs and Fargate supplies the compute to run it.
It works as a launch type for both Amazon Elastic Container Service and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, so the same service can host containers orchestrated by either. This takes server patching and capacity planning off the team's plate while keeping the familiar container workflow, and it fits services, scheduled tasks and other containerized workloads.
AWS Fargate is a proprietary, cloud-only service. Pricing is explained on a dedicated AWS pricing page, as usage-based charges depend on the resources a workload requests.
