About Trip on Rails
Trip on Rails is a trip planning web app built for groups. Every activity, route and stop appears on an interactive Google Map with place search, walking and driving routes and custom waypoints, alongside day-by-day planning, task lists and file attachments. Ready-made itineraries can be browsed, or you can start from scratch.
Costs are tracked per activity with multi-currency support, who paid what, cost splitting and settlements, which replaces spreadsheets. Travel companions join by invite link and everyone can add activities and adjust the schedule with live updates. An MCP server lets you connect Claude or other MCP clients so an assistant can read the itinerary and add or edit activities, costs, splits and to-dos by chat. Calendar export and PDF print are available.
The Free plan covers up to 3 trips, 2 collaborators per trip and 5 attachments per trip. Pro is $3 per month and adds unlimited trips and collaborators, 50 attachments, cost splitting and settlements, weekly email task reminders and larger map and MCP allowances.
