About Dawarich
Dawarich is a self-hostable web app built to replace Google Timeline, also known as Google Location History. It stores your location history on your own server, visualizes it on an interactive map and lets you keep it indefinitely instead of leaving it with a large provider.
You can create trips and analyze travel history, view statistics such as countries and cities visited and total distance, and share your location with family members. Photos from managed libraries like Immich and Photoprism can be shown on the map. History can be imported from Google Maps Timeline, OwnTracks, GPX, GeoJSON and other sources, and live tracking works with Dawarich's own mobile apps, Overland, OwnTracks, GPSLogger, PhoneTrack and Home Assistant.
The project is written in Ruby and licensed under AGPL-3.0. The maintainers warn that it is under active development, that automatic updates can break setups, and that users should read release notes and back up data before upgrading. A managed option, Dawarich Cloud, is available for people who prefer not to host it.
