About The Read Time

The Read Time is a browser extension that helps you get through text faster. It uses RSVP, a display method that flashes words one at a time, and can read the same text aloud in sync, so you read and listen together. You can set your preferred speed, remove ads from the page and turn the voice on or off.

It works across websites, emails and any text you can copy and paste, and offers a speed-read mode and a traditional read mode. The paid Plus tier adds PDF and ePub speed reading, unlimited text-to-speech and more customization. Free users can play four to five articles a week in the background while doing other tasks. The site also hosts free tools: a reading time calculator that estimates reading and read-aloud time for any text, a reading speed test and a text-to-speech page.
