About Tasks.md

Tasks.md is a self-hosted task management board that stores each card as a Markdown file on disk. You organize work in lanes and tags through a modern, responsive web interface, while the underlying data stays as plain files you can read, back up or edit with any text editor. It suits individuals and small teams who prefer a simple kanban view without a database-backed project management suite.

It is installed as a single Docker image. Optional environment variables set the file owner IDs, a title shown under the header, a base path for running behind a subpath reverse proxy, and a cleanup interval for local images. The interface follows your operating system's light or dark setting, offers three default color themes (Adwaita, Nord and Catppuccin), can be installed as a progressive web app, and detects the browser language to pick a locale for each user.

The project is JavaScript-based and MIT licensed. The README includes upgrade instructions for moving from version 2 to version 3. Note that the progressive web app does not work when the base path is set to anything other than the root.
