About StoneDB
StoneDB is a MySQL-compatible hybrid transaction and analytical processing (HTAP) database written in C++. It was designed to add analytical processing abilities to MySQL so that running systems could migrate to it without code changes. The project describes itself as a one-stop real-time HTAP database with column-oriented storage.
The README claims faster queries and loads and a high compression ratio compared with InnoDB. Getting started guides cover building from source in a Docker container or on Ubuntu, CentOS and RedHat, configuring and initializing the database, creating StoneDB tables and switching from MySQL in production. Documentation and discussion channels were provided at stonedb.io.
Note that this repository is no longer maintained. The project has moved to a new repository called ShannonBase, which is where updates, bug fixes and new features now land, so new users should evaluate that project instead. StoneDB itself is licensed under GPL-2.0 and is self-managed software.
