About Slate
Slate is an open-source storage application for collecting, organizing and sharing data across a distributed network. It is described as a first step toward a network for data storage and transactions powered by IPFS, Filecoin and Textile that anyone can use.
The primary objective is a strong experience for uploading, collecting and sharing media, with additional file types supported later. Users create accounts, build collections and profiles, and share them on the web; every account can also use a Developer API to upload files through code and HTTP, documented after logging in. The project is a work in progress.
The code base is JavaScript with React, Next.js and Electron, and the repository is MIT licensed. A hosted instance is available at slate.host, and the project is built by a growing community of contributors.
