About Pulsecheck
PulseCheck is an iPhone app, also on Apple Watch, that measures heart rate and heart rate variability using only the phone's camera in about 60 seconds. From these readings it shows whether the body is in a stressed, strained or recovered state, and it displays a real-time confidence level for each reading so poor lighting or finger movement is flagged.
It also keeps a log for blood pressure and oxygen saturation and tracks how sleep, workouts, caffeine and habits affect trends over time. Measurements and history stay on the device, with no account or cloud storage. The first readings are free, while trends, programs and a personal baseline belong to PulseCheck Premium. The developer notes that it cannot diagnose or treat conditions and is not a medical device.
