About Plume

Plume delivers a single carefully chosen word each day, with a polished definition, real example sentences and clear pronunciation, framed as reading a page from a good book rather than drilling flashcards. Pronunciation is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese, with three voices, and Japanese joined later with 960 chosen words voiced by a native speaker. Chinese definitions are free and use serif typography.

You can browse a curated set of words by category and collect words and phrases into a library. Practice quizzes, daily goals and streaks count different kinds of learning activity, and a progress heatmap, level and category stats and shareable progress cards track your learning. A widget puts the word on the home screen.

The app works fully offline with no account and no ads. The basics stay free permanently, while Plume Pro opens up every language, all three voices and the full statistics. Reviewers mention using the widget for daily French vocabulary.
