About Obsidian LLM Wiki
Obsidian LLM Wiki is a plugin that implements the LLM Wiki idea described by Andrej Karpathy inside the Obsidian editor. It turns notes, PDFs and other files into a connected, queryable knowledge base, so material you read becomes organized pages instead of a pile of files.
It extracts entities and concepts into their own pages, builds bidirectional links, keeps related pages current when new information contradicts old, and answers questions in plain language with citations to the source notes. The project highlights zero-embedding graph retrieval, native ingestion of PDFs, images and Office documents, support for many LLM providers, a local-first design with no backend, privacy-first operation and an interface in eleven languages.
Obsidian is required, and the plugin is installed from the Obsidian community plugin listing. It is written in TypeScript, licensed under Apache-2.0, and its site describes it as free and open source, though there is also a pricing page on the project site.
