About massCode
massCode is a free and open-source developer workspace that started life as a snippet manager and now brings several tools together. It combines code snippets, Markdown notes, HTTP requests, calculations, drawings and developer tools in one local-first app, with the workspace stored on your own disk as plain Markdown files.
Snippets are organized in folders and tags, notes can be linked and shown in a graph, and tasks with status, priority and due dates can link to notes, snippets and API requests. The HTTP client supports API workflows: saved requests run one after another, values carry over between steps and test results are displayed. A command palette finds items and runs commands from the keyboard, and a built-in AI assistant helps with code, notes and HTTP workflows.
massCode is available for macOS, Windows and Linux, can be installed via Homebrew, and has extensions for VS Code and Raycast. It is built with Electron and Vue, licensed under AGPL-3.0, and works offline. It suits developers who want a single local app instead of separate snippet, notes and API tools.
