About LetoReader
LetoReader is a speed reader built to improve reading efficiency using Rapid Serial Visual Presentation. It supports fast reading for skimming or easy texts and slower speeds for better comprehension, with a fixed reading speed set by the user.
The README says fixed-speed presentation reduces subvocalization and regressive eye movements at higher speeds and causes less eye fatigue. Chunking, pacing and highlighting are built in, with eight settings, a focus mode intended for readers with dyslexia or ADHD, and a minimal responsive interface. Texts can be imported from a URL, files such as PDF, Markdown, TXT, HTML and EPUB, the clipboard or a GET request body.
It stores data only in the browser's local storage and has no external API dependencies. You can self-host it with a Docker image or run it with dotnet; it is built with .NET Blazor and licensed under GPL-3.0. The maintainers note it is in maintenance mode, with priority fixes only.
