About CaughtShipping

CaughtShipping is a playful accountability app for developers who tend to work late. The user chooses a curfew, and after that time the app watches a curated list of work applications. If one is still open in front of the user after the cutoff, a short grace period begins, which is five minutes by default.

Closing the app in time keeps a streak growing and counts as a clean night. Missing the grace period counts as a fall, which is posted on a public Blotter and resets the streak, while people with long streaks are ranked on a public Wall. The app never blocks anything. The curfew can begin anywhere from 8 to 10 PM and must last at least seven hours, and two overrides a month cover real emergencies. The site also lists Rested reports as a new feature.
