Focusmate: features, pricing and alternatives

About Focusmate

Focusmate is a virtual coworking service built on body doubling, the idea that working alongside another person helps you stay on task. Users book a session, are matched with a partner, and work silently on their own tasks over video while keeping each other accountable.

Sessions can cover almost anything, from studying, coding and writing to chores and exercise. The site explains how it works, the science behind body doubling, and offers a demo. A free tier is available without a credit card, with paid plans listed on the pricing page.

Focusmate is a hosted service used through the web, and it relies on live human partners rather than software automation. The site notes it was featured in several well-known publications.
