About AOL Mail

AOL Mail is a free consumer webmail service. Signing up for an AOL account gives access to email along with AOL's news and weather content, and the company says it applies modern security and spam-blocking technology to keep inboxes safe.

The service lets users personalize their inbox with themes and tabs and offers views focused on travel, photos and documents to help find certain kinds of messages. Apps for iOS and Android take email on the go, and the interface supports many languages. Support is available through help pages and a phone line.

AOL Mail is a hosted commercial service funded by the vendor rather than by user fees, so there is nothing to install or run on your own servers. It suits people who already have an AOL address or want a straightforward free mailbox.
