About Wrapscribe
WrapScribe is an on-device dictation app for macOS. You hold the fn key, speak, and cleaned-up text appears at the cursor in whatever app you are using, or you press Command and fn for hands-free mode, and both shortcuts can be changed. Speech is fed to Apple's speech model as you speak, everything happens offline on the Mac, and the site says nothing is uploaded and no endpoint exists that could receive your voice, transcripts or dictionary. It requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) on Apple silicon.
You can choose how recording looks: a slim menu-bar band beside the notch, a floating pill that can sit at any of nine screen positions, a menu-bar-only mode with a red dot and timer, or no visible indicator, and overlays stay out of screen recordings. Other features include a personal dictionary, languages, snippets that expand short trigger phrases into full text, AI rewriting, and a Meetings feature in Pro that offers to record a call and produces two tracks, a transcript and notes. WrapScribe is free to download and activated with a license key: $100 for one Mac, $200 for three or $500 for every Mac you own.
