About Verbi
Verbi is built around speaking rather than flashcards. You talk out loud in AI voice lessons that follow a structured curriculum from beginner to advanced, with short themed lessons, checkpoints, conversation capstones and instant feedback while holding to speak. Free Roleplay lets you set any scenario, such as ordering food or a job interview, and you can choose the AI voice and personality and how much English support you want.
Four skills are tracked: speaking, vocabulary, grammar and listening. Vocabulary arrives as a daily word feed with definitions, examples and pronunciation, plus quizzes, slang quizzes, word search and crosswords. Grammar covers verb conjugation drills and texting practice in chat scenarios, and listening scenarios progress in speed. Weekly goals, streaks, a Word of the Day widget and an optional Focus Mode that blocks distracting apps keep practice consistent.
It covers nine languages, namely Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Italian, German, Portuguese, French and Spanish, is free to download with in-app purchases, and a subscription unlocks full access. Store reviews on the listing are positive, and the app is rated 4+ with an English interface.
