About Talk4now
Talk4Now is built for speaking practice. Learners join live voice rooms called clans, each showing its level, topic and who is inside before joining, and can stay muted and listen for as long as they like before unmuting. Beginner clans are slow and friendly, intermediate clans focus on conversational pace and giving opinions with reasons, and advanced clans discuss abstract topics and polish tone and idiom. A number of clans are dedicated to IELTS speaking drills and practice exams.
It runs in a phone or desktop browser with nothing to install, joining and creating clans is free with no signup to listen, and an optional contribution supports the project. An Android app is announced for later, adding background audio with the screen locked and notifications. The site has a blog, free IELTS speaking questions and interface languages including Spanish, French, Japanese and Arabic, and it describes itself as an alternative to other voice-room practice sites.
