About Tacit
Tacit keeps a log of what happens in AI coding agent sessions. It watches the local session files of Claude Code, Codex and Gemini, builds one project-scoped index on the user's machine, and extracts intent, decisions, blockers and outcomes from each run into scan-friendly fields. Developers can then search for why something was done, such as an authentication decision, open the handoff and resume with context.
The app is keyboard-first, with shortcuts for opening projects, searching sessions and opening a library of bookmarks. It runs entirely locally with no accounts or cloud storage and is available for Mac, Windows and Linux. The pitch is that agent sessions are valuable in the moment but hard to search or reference days later. Tacit is a one-time purchase, with a free trial offered, and the site mentions a roadmap and writing and skills sections.
