Stoplight

SaaS

API design, documentation and governance platform built around OpenAPI, now owned by SmartBear.

About Stoplight

Stoplight is an API design and documentation platform centered on OpenAPI. It lets teams create API descriptions, publish documentation and run mock servers from one place, with a design-first approach in which the specification is written before the code. The product is now owned by SmartBear.

The Stoplight Platform serves developers, program leaders and technology executives, with features for keeping API teams consistent and reusing definitions so APIs stay tidy across a program. Stoplight also maintains open-source tools, including the Spectral linter, the Prism mock server and Elements, a set of embeddable documentation components. The commercial platform is proprietary and hosted, with a free way to start, demos and a pricing page. The open-source tools can be used independently of it.
