staywith.pet is a desktop companion for macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon. You supply a handful of photos of your cat or dog, and in under ten minutes the app builds a 3D version that lives on your desktop, or you can pick one of 22 ready-made cat and dog breeds instead. The pet is not a looping animation: it decides what to do next, walking along the top of the Dock, napping on a quiet window edge and riding along if the window moves.

Each pet has 25 animations, from naps to stretches, and the app uses about 2.5% CPU while walking according to the site. Ten pixel-art pets are included as well. You can see your pet in 3D for free and keep it for a one-time $19 payment with no subscription, which also lets you give it your own name.
