About SpeakUp
Orato, formerly called SpeakUp, is a mobile app on the App Store and Google Play that helps people practice speaking in front of others. After a practice session the AI coach listens to the recording and returns specific notes on voice modulation, pace, pauses, filler words, clarity and structure, for example flagging rushed transitions or counting um and like.
Short lessons teach skills such as pausing with intent, opening a talk, handling off-script questions and closing a pitch, and users then rehearse realistic scenarios such as interviews, pitches and all-hands talks. The app shows scores and goals, including a clarity score, words per minute, a vocabulary and confidence view, a practice streak and a weekly session target. It is aimed at anyone from a first-time speaker preparing for a team meeting to someone preparing a conference talk.
