About Shortap

Shortap is a native macOS app that reads the MacBook's built-in motion sensor so that physical taps trigger actions. Tapping the left or right side once, twice or three times gives six configurable gestures, each assigned to one of more than 50 built-in actions or any shortcut built in the Apple Shortcuts app. It needs macOS 14 or later and a supported Apple silicon MacBook, and Intel Macs are not supported.

Actions cover screenshots and clipboard, media and volume, microphone and display brightness, window and workspace management, lock and sleep, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggles, ejecting disks, emptying the Trash, battery status and custom keyboard shortcuts, apps and URLs. Pricing is a one-time payment from $5 for one device, listed against $9, with lifetime updates and a 14-day money-back guarantee.
