About SendGrid

SendGrid is a cloud email service for sending transactional and marketing messages. Developers integrate it through an email API or an SMTP service, and marketers can run email campaigns on the same platform. It is now part of Twilio and is available through Twilio's website.

Within the Twilio product catalog, SendGrid sits under communications alongside messaging channels such as SMS, WhatsApp and voice. Twilio's wider platform adds customer data and engagement products, and the same login console covers SendGrid. Typical uses include alerts and notifications, verification, appointment reminders and promotional email.

SendGrid is a proprietary, hosted service. Pricing information is on Twilio's site, and there is no self-hosted edition.
