About Microsoft365DSC

Microsoft365DSC is a PowerShell module that lets organizations automate the deployment, configuration, reporting, and monitoring of Microsoft 365 tenants using PowerShell Desired State Configuration. It supports a configuration-as-code approach in which the setup of a tenant is described in files that can be reviewed and versioned. It is released under the MIT license.

A compiled configuration is executed by the Local Configuration Manager of an agent, which can be a machine or a container, and communicates with Microsoft 365 through remote API calls, so it needs internet connectivity. The topics show broad coverage of workloads, including Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Power Platform, and security and compliance.

The project has an official website, a YouTube channel, and a branching model with a master branch for the latest release. It suits Microsoft 365 administrators and DevOps teams that manage multiple tenants, want drift detection and consistent baselines, or need to export an existing tenant's settings as code.
