About Kaktua
Kaktua is a mobile app for practicing spoken English with an AI tutor. You talk out loud in real time and each sentence gets gentle feedback on grammar and pronunciation, including pronunciation scores. It is aimed at learners who understand English but freeze when speaking, and the site says it is built for Indonesia.
There are four ways to practice: casual chat, phone calls that train quick replies, friendly debates and roleplay scenes such as ordering coffee or a job interview. Tutors have different personalities and accents, for example a friendly American voice, a slow and clear beginner tutor and a polished British business tutor. A 30-second placement test sets your starting level, and you track mastered words, level-ups and streaks.
The suggested routine is five minutes a day. Apps are available on the App Store and Google Play, with a seven-day free trial, no credit card and cancellation at any time. The site says tutors can work in more than 15 languages.
