About FilePress

FilePress is a PHP and MySQL system that builds websites around files instead of the usual articles and attachments model. It targets people who manage large collections of images, audio and video, and treats a media-friendly file manager as its starting point. Its README and demo are in Chinese.

As a cloud drive it offers several views, including waterfall, adaptive, grid, list, two-column list and detailed modes, with configurable file information such as tags, size, image dimensions and video duration. Large thumbnails and in-list audio and video preview aid quick identification. Files can carry tags that pick up color, shape and duration automatically, plus secondary tags, descriptions, ratings, custom covers and multiple preview images. Separate libraries can be created with different permissions.

Sharing works at the level of whole libraries or custom pages built by dragging modules such as carousels, file recommendations, rich text and FAQs, and these can be combined into a full sharing site. AI features cover renaming files, tagging, writing descriptions, batch annotation and answering questions about files. The README cites an AGPL licence, though no licence is set in the repository metadata.
