About Expo EAS

Expo Application Services, or EAS, is a set of hosted services for building and shipping Expo and React Native apps. It is developed by the Expo team and integrates closely with the Expo framework, covering the steps between writing code and getting an app into the hands of users.

EAS Build compiles and signs Android and iOS apps in the cloud, including apps with custom native code, and handles credentials and secrets. EAS Submit sends finished builds to Google Play or the Apple App Store through a CLI command, EAS Update delivers updates to installed apps, and Workflows provide CI/CD tailored to React Native. Hosting and an observability service named Observe round out the lineup, and builds can target devices, simulators, internal distribution or store releases.

EAS is a proprietary hosted service with a published pricing page and an enterprise option. The Expo framework and CLI are separate developer tools, and EAS suits teams that want managed mobile build infrastructure instead of maintaining their own macOS build machines.
