About DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve is a post-production application from Blackmagic Design that brings editing, grading, effects work and sound finishing into a single program. The idea is that a project can move from cut to grade to sound without exporting between separate tools.

Its workspaces include Cut and Edit for editing, Color for grading, Fusion for visual effects and motion graphics, Fairlight for audio, and a Photo page, along with collaboration features. Blackmagic also sells control panels and consoles for color and editing, and a paid Studio version. Resolve runs on Mac, Windows and Linux.

DaVinci Resolve is proprietary software installed locally, not a hosted or self-hosted service. Blackmagic offers both a free version and a paid one, so it suits individual creators who want to start for free as well as professional facilities that need advanced tools and hardware.
