About Databasus

Databasus is a self-hosted tool, free and open source, for backing up PostgreSQL databases, with MySQL, MariaDB and MongoDB support as well. It has a web interface and focuses on point-in-time recovery with low recovery point and recovery time objectives.

Backup types include physical file-level copies, full and incremental backups that store only changes since the last full one, WAL streaming for point-in-time recovery, and logical dumps in compressed binary form. Backups can be scheduled hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or by cron, at specific times, and stored in S3, Google Drive, FTP and other destinations, with notifications to Slack, Discord, Telegram and more. Restore verification performs a real restore in a database container, checks the restored size and reports row counts per table.

The tool is written with a Go backend and a TypeScript front end, runs in Docker or Kubernetes, and is licensed under Apache-2.0. It suits administrators and small teams that want dependable Postgres backups without writing their own scripts.
