About Cody

Cody CMS is a content management system written in JavaScript that runs on Node.js. It has moved to Express 4 and can be installed with npm. It offers a graphical interface with a WYSIWYG editor so non-programmers can manage content, users, files, forms and images.

Site structure is managed through a tree-based GUI with templates and drag-and-drop, and the CMS works alongside existing Node.js code. Getting started needs Node.js and MySQL, then a guided scaffold sets up a new site, a DNS or hosts entry for the hostname, and a server run, after which the CMS dashboard is available at a path on the site.

A config.json file created by the scaffold can be overridden in several ways, and sample sites live in a separate repository. Cody is MIT licensed and suits developers who want an editable site structure inside a Node.js application.
