About Citymapper
Citymapper is a transport app for getting around large cities. It plans journeys using public transit and other ways of moving through a city, and it is available on iPhone, Android and the web. The company says its data team maintains the transit information for each supported city so that the routes it shows stay accurate.
The app has been adding features over time, including better bus information with live locations, traffic and diversions, train direction in its best-section view, lock screen navigation on iOS, calendar sync and a pick-the-best-time-to-leave tool. A paid CLUB membership has offered extra features, and an AI-assisted route picker was launched in beta for members. Citymapper has also joined the mobility company Via.
Beyond the consumer app, the company works with cities and transit agencies on journey planning and rider insights, and it sells advertising that reaches commuters in major cities. It is a hosted commercial product with no self-hosted version.
