Astronomer

Astronomer is the company behind Astro, a managed platform for Apache Airflow, the open-source workflow orchestrator widely used for data, machine learning and AI pipelines. The aim is to let teams write Airflow workflows while the vendor handles the infrastructure underneath.

Astro is offered as a fully managed orchestration service, and Astro Private Cloud runs Airflow as a service inside the customer's own environment. Astronomer also maintains developer tools such as Cosmos and a command-line interface, and has introduced an agent called Otto aimed at data engineering work. The vendor documents how Astro differs from running open-source Airflow directly and says existing DAGs continue to work.

Astronomer is a commercial product built around open-source software. The homepage offers free sign-up and demos, there is a public pricing page, and education resources such as an academy and webinars are provided.
