HubSpot vs Pipedrive: Which CRM Fits Your Sales Team in 2026?

HubSpot vs Pipedrive compared on free plans, pricing structure, pipeline tools, marketing, AI and who each CRM suits, plus open-source options.

Pick HubSpot if you want a free CRM to start with and expect marketing and customer service to share the same customer records as sales. Pick Pipedrive if your team sells mainly through a visual deal pipeline and wants a CRM that stays focused on selling, with a trial instead of a free plan.

That is the heart of the HubSpot vs Pipedrive choice: one is a platform with a CRM at its centre, and the other is a CRM built around the pipeline. Both are closed-source and hosted only. The sections below compare the free plans, pricing structure, selling tools, marketing, AI and who each product suits, using each vendor's own pages and Enlisted's catalogue.

What is the core difference between HubSpot and Pipedrive?

HubSpot is a commercial customer platform built around a CRM. It combines marketing, sales and customer service tools so every team works from the same customer records. The product line includes the free HubSpot CRM, Marketing Hub, Sales Hub and Service Hub, and each hub has free and premium editions.

Pipedrive is a commercial CRM aimed at salespeople and small sales teams. Its central idea is a visual pipeline where deals move through stages, so reps can see what to do next and managers can spot stalled opportunities. The feature list covers lead management, automation, email sync and tracking, reporting, and add-ons for lead generation and projects.

Neither is better in the abstract. HubSpot makes sense when several teams need a shared customer view, and Pipedrive makes sense when the pipeline is the job.

Is there a free HubSpot or Pipedrive plan?

HubSpot has one, and Pipedrive does not.

HubSpot's CRM page describes a free CRM with no expiration date and no credit card needed. It includes contact management, deal pipelines, email tracking, tasks, a reporting dashboard, a meeting scheduler, live chat, a ticketing system, payment links and the Breeze AI assistant. The page limits the number of users, so check its current terms for your team size.

Pipedrive's support pages state that it offers no free plan. Its pricing page instead lists a free trial of its paid plans, which Enlisted records as 14 days. That is enough time to test the pipeline on real deals, but it is not a place to stay long term.

For a one-person sales operation that wants to stay free, HubSpot is the clear starting point. For a team that has already decided to pay, the free plan matters less than what the paid plans include.

How does the pricing structure differ?

Both are priced per user, but they are built differently, and Enlisted's live pricing section below this guide shows current numbers.

HubSpot splits its offer by hub and by edition. In Sales Hub, the free edition covers basic tools, Starter adds conversational bots, more templates and more calling, and Professional adds advanced workflows, deal splits, richer reporting and forecasting. Enterprise adds higher limits, custom forecasting with team hierarchies and advanced playbooks. HubSpot's pricing page says Professional and Enterprise require a one-time paid onboarding. Adding Marketing Hub or Service Hub is a separate purchase, so the total depends on which combination you buy.

Pipedrive offers four plans, Lite, Growth, Premium and Ultimate, billed per user. Its support page on plan features lists workflow automation, email sync, email templates and tracking, and a forecast view as starting on Growth, not on Lite. Phone support, and the Projects and LeadBooster add-ons, come included from Premium. If you expect to use email sync and automation, plan to buy Growth or above.

Which is better for day-to-day selling?

Both cover the core: contacts, deals, pipeline stages, tasks and email. The difference is emphasis.

Pipedrive's feature page puts customizable pipelines, lead management, workflow automation, email and reporting at the front, with mobile apps for iOS and Android and an integrations marketplace. Its Nova tool captures meeting information before, during and after calls. The LeadBooster add-on handles lead generation and is included from the Premium plan up.

HubSpot's Sales Hub lists deal pipelines, deal scoring that ranks deals by likelihood to close, sequences for outreach, a call tracker with a power dialer and voicemail drops, meeting scheduling, forecasting, conversation intelligence and document playbooks. Its Revenue Hub, paired with Sales Hub, adds quoting, billing and payment collection.

A rep who wants a clean pipeline will find Pipedrive's design directly aimed at them. A sales leader who wants forecasting, playbooks and quoting under the same roof will find more of that in HubSpot's Sales Hub, at the cost of a more layered pricing structure.

Which covers marketing and customer service?

HubSpot. Its Marketing Hub includes email marketing, forms, landing pages, social media, SEO tools, ads, campaigns and automation, and it has a free tier. The Service Hub covers customer support, and the free CRM already includes a ticketing system. All of them share the CRM, so a marketing contact and a sales deal are the same record.

Pipedrive offers an email marketing product with a campaign builder, analytics and segmentation, plus lead nurturing sequences. It does not set out to be a marketing platform or a help desk, so teams that need those would pair it with other tools. Its features page points to an integrations marketplace that includes Google, QuickBooks, Asana and Slack.

How do reporting and forecasting compare?

Both give a reporting view from the start. HubSpot's free CRM includes a reporting dashboard, and its paid Sales Hub editions step up from there: Professional lists enhanced reporting and forecasting, and Enterprise adds custom forecasting with team hierarchies, which matters to managers rolling up several teams.

Pipedrive's feature page promises customizable reports for spotting winning patterns, and its support page lists reporting on every plan, with multiple dashboards on Premium and Ultimate. A forecast view starts on Growth. For a small team that wants to see pipeline value by stage, either is enough. A larger sales organization with layered teams should ask Pipedrive how its forecasting handles team hierarchies, since HubSpot lists that explicitly on its Enterprise edition.

How do the AI features compare?

HubSpot lists the Breeze AI assistant in its free CRM and, on Sales Hub, a Breeze Prospecting Agent, AI guided selling with smart queues and action summaries, and a Notetaker for meetings. Pipedrive lists Pipedrive AI, which includes a sales assistant, an email writer and summarizer and a report generator, along with Nova for meeting intelligence and an MCP server for connecting AI tools. HubSpot lists included credits on its paid plans, so check how AI use is metered when you compare totals.

Can you self-host HubSpot or Pipedrive?

No. Enlisted lists both as closed-source SaaS with no self-hosted version. If you need to host the CRM yourself, the open-source routes include EspoCRM, SuiteCRM, Twenty and Frappe CRM. The HubSpot alternatives and Pipedrive alternatives pages list more.

HubSpot: best for teams that want sales, marketing and service on one CRM

HubSpot is a customer platform with a CRM at its centre, where marketing, sales and service hubs share the same contact records and each hub starts with a free tier. Pick it when more than one team needs customer data, or when you want a free starting point that can grow. See the HubSpot listing for the licence and links, and the HubSpot alternatives guide for other routes.

  • Best for: small businesses adopting a first CRM, and companies where marketing and sales share data.
  • Watch out for: hub-by-hub pricing means the total grows as you add hubs, and the Professional and Enterprise Sales Hub editions need a paid onboarding.

Pipedrive: best for sales teams that live in the pipeline

Pipedrive is a sales CRM built around visual pipelines, with lead management, automation, email tracking and meeting intelligence for sales teams. Pick it for small sales teams and agencies that track deals in stages and want follow-up automated. The Pipedrive listing has more detail.

  • Best for: small sales teams, agencies and anyone whose process is a deal pipeline.
  • Watch out for: no free plan, email sync and automation start above the entry plan, and lead generation and projects are add-ons on lower plans.

Frequently asked questions

Is HubSpot or Pipedrive better for a small sales team?
Pipedrive suits small teams whose whole job is moving deals through a visual pipeline, while HubSpot suits teams that also want marketing and customer service on the same customer records. HubSpot starts with a free CRM, and Pipedrive starts with a 14-day trial, so a very small team can try HubSpot without paying.
Does Pipedrive have a free plan like HubSpot?
No. Pipedrive's support pages say there is no free plan, and it offers a free trial of its paid plans instead. HubSpot has a free CRM with no expiry date, though its page limits the number of users, and its paid hubs add more tools on top.
Which is cheaper, HubSpot or Pipedrive?
It depends on how many hubs and which editions you buy. Pipedrive uses a ladder of four per-user plans with add-ons on the lower ones. HubSpot prices each hub separately, and its Sales Hub Professional and Enterprise editions require a paid onboarding. Use the live pricing section on this page to compare current plan prices for your team size.
Does Pipedrive include marketing tools like HubSpot?
Partly. Pipedrive offers email marketing with a campaign builder, analytics and segmentation, but it stays focused on sales. HubSpot has a dedicated Marketing Hub with email, forms, landing pages, social, SEO and ads tools, and a free Marketing Hub plan, all sharing the same CRM as its Sales and Service hubs.
Can HubSpot or Pipedrive be self-hosted?
No. Enlisted lists both as closed-source, hosted-only products. If you want to host a CRM yourself, open-source options such as EspoCRM, SuiteCRM, Twenty and Frappe CRM can be self-hosted.
