About WakeUp

WakeUp is an iPhone and iPad app that combines an alarm clock with a to-do list limited to two tasks a day. The idea is to remove choice and set a fixed moment to start. In the evening, a night alarm rings until you pick tomorrow's two tasks. In the morning, the alarm will not stop until you complete a mission such as a memory game, a math problem, a photo, shaking the phone or scanning a barcode, and there is no snooze.

During the day only the two chosen tasks are visible. You press Start, a countdown begins, and the rest stays locked until you finish. Completing both tasks adds a day to your streak, a missed day resets it to zero, and the record is kept. A 30-day run earns a shield that covers one bad day. A Kanban board and a calendar hold the longer list, and the app also offers badges and sleep statistics.

The developer lists what the app leaves out: no forty-task days, no motivational quotes and no snooze button. It is free to download, and a premium subscription, monthly or annual and billed through your Apple account, is required.
